Our Story

Our Mission:
At Seedling Blooms, we honor the nurturing spirits of my grandmother, LaVerne Frances McGee, and my mother, Marsha Aileen Daves. From my grandmother’s teachings on seed saving and her bountiful farm, with its vegetable gardens, orchards, and vibrant flowers, to my mother’s guidance in cultivating blossoms and mastering the art of preserving food through canning, her love of cooking, and baking, their legacies inspire our mission.
We aim to empower individuals to cultivate their own gardens, from seedlings to blooms, and to embrace the joys of growing vibrant herbs, abundant vegetables, and colorful flowers. Through hands-on learning and creative inspiration, we offer seedling sales, flower seed-saving classes, canning workshops, and seasonal gourmet dinners to celebrate the harvest of herbs, vegetables, and edible flowers. These dinners showcase how every seed can become beautiful, nourishing, and unforgettable. We strive to foster a community rooted in growth, preservation, and culinary delight.
Here, we don’t just grow gardens.
We bloom, gracefully.

Our Story:
Seedling Blooms is a vibrant garden-centered business rooted in tradition and blooming with creativity. Inspired by generations of women who grew, harvested, preserved, and shared the beauty of their gardens. Seedling Blooms is here to help you experience the joy of cultivating life from the soil up.
Some of my most cherished memories are from childhood summers in the garden with my mother and grandmother. I can still picture the soft Kansas sun casting golden light over rows of tomatoes surrounded by yellow and orange blooms of marigolds and nasturtiums. My grandmother gently showed my brother and me how to pick the ripest red tomatoes, handing us one now and then to taste. My favorite moments were walking through the orchard, picking strawberries and blackberries, and popping the sun-warmed fruit into my mouth as we filled our buckets to freeze for the months ahead.
While both sides of my family have farming roots, my maternal grandparents’ farm in Linn County, Kansas, held the most magic. There were sunflowers stretching as far as I could see, ponies to ride, eggs to gather, and fireflies to chase in the warm evening air. But what I loved most was being in the garden, preserving vegetables, and cooking in the kitchen alongside the women who raised me.
Seedling Blooms is a continuation of that joy. We specialize in organically grown seedlings, educational workshops, and seasonal gatherings that connect the garden to the table. Whether planting your first herb or preserving your garden’s bounty, Seedling Blooms is here to guide you.
